i live in Australia ... men jag kom till sverige för en vecka sen. redan saknar jag vågor och vill bara surfa... jag ska nog få brädan min skickad hit, eller så köper jag en ny... vart är bästa stället att köpa brädor i sverige? skulle vara tacksam om jag fick några tips om vart och hur man surfar här om det verkligen går!!!

Beroende på var du bor finns det olika alternativ. Jag bor på västkusten och här finns en del bra spots Ska nog ut i helgen i Halmstadtrakten eftersom det verkar blåsa upp på fredag och kan därför vara bra på lördagmorgon. Är du i närheten så haka på fan! Skriv till mig i så fall.

För att köpa gear finns ett par bra surfshoppar på västkusten. Ohana och Surfshopen i Halmstad (www.ohana.se www.surfshopen.se) och i Varberg finns en bra shop: Surfers Paradise (www.surfers.se)

Testa dom! Därifrån går även att beställa allt du vill via internet!

Där det finns hav finns det vågor. Minst ca 150 km fetch för att svallet ska hinna bygga och det måste blåsa +10 m/s ett gäng timmar i rätt riktning...

jag kan tipsa om nords surfbrädor. har själv kört på dem en längre tid och är hur nöjd som helst, samt att det är ett svenskt brädmärke vilket är lite roligt. www.nordclothing.com

bor du i stockholm så är butiken 6/5/4 ultimat. killarna som jobbar där är surfare sedan en lång tid tillbaks samt att de har allt i våtdräkts samt utrustningsväg du kan tänka dig, samt väldigt gott kaffe. www.sexfemfyra.se

gazzer: i grew up in sweden for my first ten years as my mum is swedeish, hence the name linus!! i never met anyone in australia with my name . haha at the moment i live in hälsingland which is a bit fucked up for surfing i know!! but im free to do what i want so when i get organised i will go where the waves are!

ratman: yo yo yo your from aus thats awesom and i saw that you have been to bingin bali!! i went there in july this year it was bloody amazing! surfed at many breaks including; impossibles, dreamlands, uluwatu, kuta beach and reef.. you may have been to these spots! we all got pretty cut up on the reef but it was all worth it for some amazing rides! i will definately contact you when i get a board together! cheers mate!

esta: so the waves here depend on the wind!! in australia the wind doesnt matter as much so long as it is not too strong an preferably offshore! there is nearly always swell around where i live, or used to live!! cheers

swedaus. ...before i moved here i wrote a letter to a mate of mine called henio who is a well known surfer in sweden and said that i was gunna move to sweden..he wrote back..'DONT your surfing soul will die'..I moved here anyway and guess what..my surfing soul didn't die..but it can be a long time between getting wet sometimes and its a whole new ball game surfing in the extremely cold conditions that we get here in late autumn, winter and spring..(you need to get the right wetsuit equipment and dont scab on the quality, get the best shit and you won't get cold, even when it's -5 and snowing as you get dressed)
I think that my surfing soul got stronger surfing here..if you dont live in the cities you're often surfing with a small crew of super keen guys who become tightly bonded to each other and the swell and wind prognosis every day....in my group we are 7-8 people ranging from 21yrs old up to me 49yrs old..we hang together we ring each other pretty much every day and we live by the prognosis sights on the internet, praying every day that it will turn on soon.. when the surf does turn on we drive thru snowstorms, get suited up in minus temps and surf often in onshore conditions, (with the occasional epic offshore surf when the wind dies if you time it right).. it becomes an adventure of epic proportions every time..really good fun and every session is a classic one even if the surf is small and shitty sometimes..It can also get really really good sometimes as well..get the right wetsuit stuff, get a fatter board that can floet you in softer waves eg a modern fish and go for it..peace man..rat

Haha a fair bit colder in the baltic sea than south Australia. Does the water temp ever dip below 10 c?

Thats considered balmy in Sweden, dont worry you actually get used to it. Cold water gives you a good workout though. Good luck, dont know if You´ve seen the forecast for tomorrow but there is a forecast for a 6 m windswell and maybe snow in some areas.
