Tjena, jag ska dra till Irland den 26:e juli. Jag har hyrt bil och ska tälta. Är det nån som har lite tips på ställen man ska dra till, camping ställen? Hört att Nordvästra Irland ska vara bra. Jag åker själv så vill gärna åka till ställen där det finns lite folk.

your totally right. north west Ireland is probably the best because it catches the best of the stronger northern swell. Bundoran in Donegal, is probably the most popular spots and has a great point, long beach breaks and a little bombie in town that gets real hollow. Easky, on the Sligo coast, is about 50 mins drive from Bundoran. Absolutely sick waves in large or smaller swell. Camping is, or was no problem down near the old tower. everyone just camps in the field in busses, cars and tents. If you get unlucky and get a more southerly swell, then spanish point on the Claire Coast is your best bet. here is a little link that might help, but if you get a north swell hit easky (and dont be scared to drive down little lanes around the place to find desserted barrels). www.vacationkillarney.com/Surfing.htm

Just be one of the people who respects the wave, and the showerblock and keeps it clean.
Sometimes its just a discrace the way its left

Board hire in Ireland aint great - insurance:S

There are a few custom shapers, best known is Mark McGuire is between Bundoran and Easky - powersourcesurfboards.com, I have had a board from him.

In Derry, Rosy Surfboards.

If you are getting a custom, be sure to order at least 2-3 weeks ahead.

There are tons of surfshops in the area.
In Sligo - outerpoint., Enniscrone, Perfect day, In Bundoran - Bundoran Surf Comapany - there are a lot.

Jag har varit två vändor på Irland o surfat. Tyckte att det var rätt svårt att hitta "lagliga" tältplatser. Strandhill är ett just ställe att campa på. Finns dock inte mycket att göra om det är platt. Tältplatser 50 m från surfet. Om det är för jä... risigt väder finns det ett litet hostell där rätt många surfare håller till.
