Har precis införskaffat mig en Canon 550D. Förbannat nöjd med både bilder o filmer som den skapat fram, grym skärpa. Kan inte vara nöjdare. Dock vill jag köpa ett extra objektiv till för att kunna zooma lite mer och fota surfing bl.a. Jag har inte mest pengar att lägga ut men skulle vilja ha tips på någon bra lins som ändå är helt ok för lite längre avstånd. Hur eär Tamron jämfört med Canon, Sigma osv?

jag kör med Canon EF 70-300 när jag plåtar bla. surf och jag är jävligt nöjd med den!!
sen vet jag inte skillnaden mellan olika märken men jag kör alltid canon.. känner att man vet vad man får då lixom..

Sigma och Tamron är ju inte 100% kvalitet. Men Tamron är nog det bättre av dom 2. Har ett Sigma 100-300 som är ... sådär bra. Men har även ett Tamron 50mm Macro som tar jäkligt bra bilder. Men det kanske är för att det är ett fast objektiv.

Kolla med gubbarna på Scandinavian Photo. Maila och be om råd, du kan garanterat hitta nåt på NZ, även begagnat.

Ett med fast brännvidd är nog billigaste/bästa alternativ, typ 300mm. Canon naturligtvis bäst men jag tycker piraterna ofta klarar sig bra, tex Sigma

I'll bite, for jag ta det på engelska?

There are a couple of big questions, what's your budget and is it like 50/50% filming/photos?

If you have a low budget, then the Canon 70-200 fixed 4f lens is an incredible lens at that price.
Tamron makes a solid 70-200 2.8f without stabilization (which I never use at those focal lengths because at those lengths you are best being on a tripod, at least if you are filming)

These are long lenses that will give you some reach to the surf zone, if you are planning on getting a water house, there are two solid cheapy wide lenses that I'd go for, Tokina 11-16 2.8 if you want to take a lot of stills, and the Samyang 14 2.8 which is a good one for filming.

Sometimes the long lenses are more expensive than a solid handycam, which might be a better option for filming entirely. Maybe not for those 'oh look how cool we are lifestyle shots with short depth of field' but you'll catch more surf action, and you'll also catch more in focus and exposed correctly and you'll also have more reach as in zoom to catch tighter action-
In other words, it might be better to invest in a second camera, and might in fact be cheaper. Your 'systemcamera' for wide and lifestyle and scenery shots, a handycam for just the actual surf action.

Several reasons, and this is still primarily if you are filming. But it is actually really hard to film surfing properly with a DSLR camera, for one they aren't ergonomic, two, the depth of field is shorter, three, lenses arenät varifocus so you have to both adjust focus and focal length as you go, not easy unless you are stopped down to block out light, and if you are stopped down, better expect that horrid moiré.

If you are stubborn enough to ignore me, then here is a list of lenses I'd recommend as a kit, if you are on a budget:'

- A wide, either 11-16 Tokina 2.8 or 14 Samyang 2.8 (the Samyang can be used on full sensored lenses and since it is manual itäs worse for stills but better for timelapses and filming)
- a standard zoom, 17-50 2.8 of any brand (tamron, canon and Sigma all make one)
- A nice fast prime, roughly 30mm is what matches the normal eye on a camera like yours

- your telephoto for surfing, if filming preferably a zoom, 70-200 , at f stops 2.8 -4 most are good, find the cheapest one and instead of spending more for longer lensees, which get exponentially more expensive, go for a 1.6 or 2x adapter, it'll keep it lighter, cheaper and give it significant reach only at the minor disadvantage of slightly less sharpness and will let in what I consider only an insignificant less light

I'm in Bangkok now puhhhhhhh. Cool town and amazing food.. We're gonna go and have a look at some offical stores today but it looks like it is between: Tamron AF 18-200, Sigma 50 - 200 or Canon EF-S 55 - 250
We're not gonna film too much surfing unless it is with our underwater camera. Filming on the 550D ( Same as the 7D in quality ) is amazing and better than any handycam I've seen actually. I like the colors, the focus and the feeling of the motions when you film with it. It will be mostly for music videos

Have a nice autumn I'm ripping up NZ east coast in a week !!!

in that case, you can go cheap, get some fixed focal length lenses like 14 2.8, 24, real fast 30/35, and 50, if you have extra cash, get an even longer one and you are set, if you go vintage, you can get several for the price of a standard zoom

Det blev en Canon 55-250 och efter att ha fotat några hundra bilder kan jag inte vara annat än nöjd. Sjukt bra skärpa, stabilitet och färg.

Det enda som jag inte gillar med min 550D is that you can't adjust the audio manually och att det syns ingen Audio Levels i displayen.... Men du kommer nog att lägga på ljudspåren seperate. Eller har de putsat in en ny Firmware version?

Det finns lite fusk firmware till 550d'n för att få hjälp med exponering samt att justera ljudnivåer manuellt.

Använde den tidigare till min 550, funkade bra. Men allt är manuellt, men det borde du iförsig vara van vid om du filmar med DSLR. Filmar mest med 7d tyvärr finns inte samma firmware till den.

Jo, jag laddade ner den men av någon anledning fick den aldrig att funka ... fick upp att den var laddat i kameran m.m. men hittade aldrig de nya inställningar!

Finns det någon bra site med tips för att komma igång med DSLR filmning? Har letat runt lite men inte hittat något klockrent. Några tips på bra att komma igång redigeringsprogram?

PS eller MAC?

Jag tänkte mig väl på PC men om du har tips om vad man kan använda på MAC så kanske någon annan är intresserad.
