alright i see your point but don't think you know the whole story, I feel I contribute a lot to this forum, I try to help out with my Point of View on surf related subjects like technique, good surf movies, equipment and so on, heaps of people write me in my guestbook and ask me for advice all the time, whether my advice is sound or not is another thing. But as of late I have been getting heaps of shit for something which is essentially just a silly inside joke.
I find it amazing that when you click on my now over 1000 posts, most which revolve around surfing in some way, where i try to answer questions, i get flak for the 30 or so non-surfrelated posts.
It seems like people were more focused on hating the sillyness which is only noticeably because no one else writes a lot. Some say, 'hey we don't have time to be on the computer all the time' but that is bullshit, every time I look down at members inloggad, there are about 30 online all the time all day long that never write anything. Of course it is going to look like BOS is the only thing we write about when we are the only people posting anything. Sverre isn't even logged in that much, he just shows up, writes 20 posts and is gone again.
At any rate, I got a little fed up when I thought Swingkid was getting over sensitive and his whining was being so supported by a group of people who I feel hadn't contributed shit to this forum. People who write the crappiest inlägg 'funkar åsa idag', or who don't write at all, shouldn't do much complaining is my point. That is what I found to be typical swedish.
I don't hate sweden at all, I am half swedish, and live here and about 80% of my friends, including girlfriend are swedish. But I can speak with generalizations and say that I find swedes to generallly be over critical and rude in certain situations (but so can people from other countries be as well, including USA). I stll think I am right about that and a lot of people will agree, but that is still beside the point. My point was that there were expectations to behave a certain way on this site, but not in everyday life.
It's so weird, I see other countries getting hammered by critique from swedes all the time, on TV commercials , conversations with others and so on. I make a comparison to say that I find it hypocritical that swedes expect it to be polite in here when I don't find them especially (i used that word too) polite in real life, and the focus of several of the replies are just taking offense to that i made a single critique about sweden. That was never the point to begin with!!!! Besides, I am only one person and therefore the minority, so I say grow a little thicker skin. I take shit all the time haha.
*(That last line does not concern Luke Egen though as I know you are now a minority (being swedish) living in the states and you probably need to vent some of your frustration out on that place as well, SharkBoy has total understanding for that and would expect that if you wrote that on Surfermag BB, that you would get similar to the 'if you don't like it go somewhere else' comments as well)
