I bought one in SA..
Way faster than my truster but stiffer also.
Good for fully committed turns!!
Wouldnt mind getting a quad gun.
When back on my truster, it felt so loose and good.
So it's for you quiver people out there not as a only board option.
If your not build as a feckkin tank!

Lee: in some respects the board is the best board I've ever owned but it does a few things differently from a thruster; it goes to the lip faster, better in carves, more responsive bucks off the lip better but it also is more unstable during later drops and you have to carve all bottom turns, you can't just pivot mid face up the wave like you can on a thruster which is in some ways a good grovell technique, especially backside
Andiss: what is your quads shape like-? mine is a normal shortboard and is far looser than any thruster I've ever had, could be the fin set-up, I use longboard stabilizers in the rear
Sverre: I am short and stocky, therefore so are my boards, this board is pretty thin and chippy if you were to hold it you'd see that it is pretty low volume, prolly only around 21 liters or so
Craig...care to chime in with feedback on yours_?

I agree with the foot placement bit, board is very sensitive to where the feet go. Definitely a faster board than a thruster, almost too fast on slower waves.

Nu blev jag sjukt sugen på en sån där carbonbräda. Hur många månadslöner kostar en sån? Ska du beställa Lee?
Någon som har surfat en carbonbräda och kan säga något om flexet jämfört med en surftech och en poly?

Skarkboy,
I guess it's my fin setup
It's a GEE Force Jordy Smith model 6'2 19" 2 ½" - M3 in front and G1000 at the back.
Dunno if I will change the fin setup as my trusters three around 6'2 are loose enough.
I surfed my 6'3" with OCCY setup and it was so loose compared to above. Prior I thought that was my "stiffest" setup I had. (Have a pair of GPR's in carbon that I never use.) I kind of enjoyed the speed and fully committed turns with no risk of fins sliding out.
But hey if I'd be surfing sloppy Swedish waves I prob rather slap on smaller fins to get a looser feel but with a lot of drive.
Those longboard fins you are using are so small.

Yann: Those Aviso boards cost around 1000 Us so that would end up being alot of money to get it shipped to sweden with taxes etc. So at the moment I ain't gonna order one but there are nice. Wonder how you would fix them if you ripped a fin out, or put a hole in them being carbon and all that.
Andiss: firewire quads look good too have just been released in May will try and pick 1 up when I go back to oz.

Simon has a quad the S4
www.downthelinesurf.co.uk/shop/list/Surfboards-Shortboards-Simon-Anderson/6/2/1/0 395 pounds not a bad price inside the EU so u don't have to pay taxes.
But I have read and heard good things about ..lost Brian Bulkey shaped quads so I might have to order on off Sharky his looks nice...

It says on the website that Pukas is a distributor. Does that mean that they only distribute and don't shape them in the Pukas factory? If that's the case the price is probably higher than US$1000 since they have to get them imported into Spain in the first place. Maybe Sharkboy can tell?
Saw a Rusty carbon shortboard on Bali for US$2000 (13 418kr)!!!

Pukas only imports the Aviso. From aviso webpage "All aspects of the Company's products are manufactured in the USA" pretty sure they have the factory in Nevada, out in the desert. Yann have you seen you can get the aviso in different colors.

Andiss, how much do you weigh? what fins do you usually use=?
I weigh around 76k and usually surf the K2.1' or FG5 size fins, for my quad, i went PC5 up front and GL sides in the back, it was pretty squirrelly so I chucked the Gx middles in the back, it felt more like a thruster but felt sluggish like a thruster as well, then I chucked the Gx sides in, that felt way better.
Now I have the H2's up front and went back to the GL fin in the back, it seems to be the best of both worlds, in fact the H2's feel better as a quad then they did as a thruster, the GL is plenty of fin because it is closer to the rail so there is more fin in the water during a turn anyways.
Yann, I can get you an Aviso board if you want but they aren't cheap, even with your bro discount.

you posted earlier that you ride the M3's up front, I'd switch those out for the M5's but put in Gx's in the back, side or middle, try each out, I betchya it works better and you'll get tighter turns, but equal drive

Dunno if i want to change. I might need to surf it a bit more before. I surfed it in very heavy fast beachbreaks. And will gets some mellow points and reefs in weekend. So ill give that a lash before i mess around with fins. Don't have anything smaller than fins on board at the moment to set at front. But im a thinking of using tyeh boards as more of a big wall - big turn kind of board. And use my truster for the normal thight stuff.
It's seems a complexed with quads.
Some people says you should ride em in bigger surf and other say use as a small wave board. Probably fin setup dictate? Anyway i heard soem guy one the maverick comp on a comp, wouldnt mind a seroius quad gun for winter.
Weekend looking good,.
